Story of The Walking Scribe

Writing has never been optional for me. I always felt it was part of my soul.

I really started writing in high school. Haiku and other Japanese forms of verse, free form poetry and short stories. I still have copies of them. Some more than 50 years old. Several years ago my wife dragged out some old files at our home, and began to retype them. Of course, she wondered about the love poetry I wrote before we met.

Then for many years, my writing became more business-driven. Years in the corporate world and several years owning our own company. I found ways to continue building my writing muscles. But it wasn't the same thing. All strength and no heart.

It is 2020, and I have fully recommitted to writing. I have once again become that perpetual student of life that is also called an author.

My range includes poetry and short stories, and a vignette memoir in continuous process. I am currently completing a 90,000 word narrative non-fiction work set in World War II, and will be starting a new series of shorter books following this. I also blog and post in social media as you will see here.

Like eating and breathing, writing has again become integral to my existence. Everyday I am thankful to be able to make a career from something that brings me so much pleasure. And hopefully brings my readers pleasure as well.

So, come along for a walk of discovery. I think you'll enjoy the views.
